Tate Street Festival 2018

Alrighty guys, I just went and bought a bunch of prints of my pieces... Y'all better come and get 'em! Get there early so you can have your pick of them!

I know it's just a one-day, six hour festival. I know it's small and on Tate Street. I know my booth will probably be bare and uninteresting in comparison to larger vendors, or food vendors, or the musicians. However, I also know that when I commit to something, I go big or go home. I've done everything almost entirely on my own (with the exception of my Mom's, Lawrence's, and Nick's help). I've cancelled plan after plan for social meet-ups for the sake of this festival, because if I'm going to put my work and myself on display, you best bet it's gon' be good.

Let me tell you... If there's anything I want the world, the universe, my divine, or other to know about me and what I intend behind every creative expression of mine, it is that I love. I love living, I love people, I love this world, I love myself, I love plants, and animals, and my friends. I love learning and growing and changing.

I believe that love is the answer. To give yourself entirely is not equivalent of love, because to give yourself entirely is impossible. In order to give yourself, you must have some of yourself to give. But to give as much as you can of yourself, and still be yourself, that is to love. I hope I can one day use my works (paintings, drawings, singing, dancing, hugging, laughing, saying hello) to continuously spread love with each and every moment!

The first day of class we all piled into the fake room made up of foldable walls and sat at our desks, quiet for a moment and waiting. Mr. Zidek was sitting at his computer and made no sign of getting up from it. The chatter increased slowly as we realized he didn't mind us enjoying ourselves on the very first day. It was the last class of our schedules, too, so I'm sure he figured it was going to be a tricky semester. Plenty of students were CTE (Career and Technical Engineering) kids who, if you don't know Weaver, are the part-time students from other schools. Certainly, they hadn't signed up for Weaver to take a Chemistry class... They were probably there for the automotive or construction departments. What they probably didn't expect, though, was the opportunity to have an incredibly kind and knowledgeable teacher who guided us in improving our understanding of science. Here's a sneak peak into my good friend  Cristián 's photography! The piece in the background was my Senior Study in High School at Weaver Academy for Performing and Visual Arts. Shout out to Woodsie and Cozart  -- my teachers in the Visual Arts department -- for an amazing experience in the arts as a teen. Wanted to take this moment to say thank you to my friends that have supported me through my artistic endeavors, as well as life in general, otherwise I would NOT have made it here without you all! I feel like I am on the edge of a big turning point in my life, and I know you guys will be the ones to push me over it (in the best way).
